Abbeyfield Kingston is an affiliate of Abbeyfield Houses Society of Canada, a
non profit organization that provides affordable housing for seniors. OUR AIM: To provide accommodation and companionship for seniors within our local community. We intend to offer an affordable, supportive care House in which a group of typically eight to sixteen residents live like a large "family". WE ARE NON-PROFIT: We are a non-profit, charitable organization affiliated with Abbeyfield Houses of Canada. House ownership and care support are undertaken in each community by community volunteers, often with help from service clubs and churches WE ARE TIME-PROVEN: Founded over fifty years ago, there are now over 850 Abbeyfield Houses around the world with over 9,000 residents and 13,000 volunteers, providing an enhanced, extended and healthy lease on life for our seniors. AN ABBEYFIELD HOUSE is not a nursing home. An Abbeyfield House provides a "home within a home" to the lonely or isolated elderly man or woman who, though relatively fit for his or her years, is no longer willing or able to live alone. |
